I have spoken with a lot of property managers who are being ripped off and mucked around by the building industry. They are told by tradespeople “no, you don’t need a building consent to do this work”, only to find out later that they did. Or.. they were told to upgrade their building unnecessarily.

Our recent encounters with mother nature (floods, earthquakes, etc) remind us that we are not always in control. There are changes planned for the building industry which also leave many feeling powerless. Is there a future for me? What will happen if the Government…? What can I do about it – little ol, me?
